A traditional way respecting market

Post by Juthi5019 »

Google Analytics will check if the domain has changed. Since the referrer domain is different from the domain of the website I am currently on GA starts a new session (because the traffic source has changed). However, subdomains can also be treated as a distinct traffic source, and this is usually not a good thing: you'll end up seeing auto-referrals in your GA Acquisition reports.

However, by default, Google Analytics handles this issue quite easily if you entered the correct information into your property settings when the property was created. Why? Because that domain is added C Level Contact List to your referral exclusion list. A referral exclusion list informs Google Analytics that if a visitor came to your site from the domain, this will not be considered a traffic source and will be transformed into a (direct) session.

The visitor already has an active GA session, it will be continued. In your GA account, go to Admin and in the Property column , go to Tracking Info > Referral Exclusion List . There may be one domain or there may be multiple domains entered there. It depends on your website's ecosystem, the payment gateways you use, etc. However, if your primary domain is, for example, fuellabstudio.com, then the same domain should be placed in the referral exclusion list. about your website's ecosystem, the payment gateways you use, etc.
